The property

Casa o Chalet occupies something almost no property in Ibiza can claim: an entire peninsula of its own. The land runs out from the Cala Jondal shoreline into the sea on three sides, and the house sits at the point where the rock finally gives way. There are no neighbours in frame. From the terrace, the water reads as a single uninterrupted plane, with Es Vedrà holding the far right of the horizon.

The architecture answers the site rather than competing with it. Low, wide volumes in lime-washed stone are pressed into the rock so the roofline never breaks the skyline, and the interiors open along their full length toward the water. Sabina beams, tadelakt walls and deep shaded galleries keep the rooms cool through August without a single hard edge. Nothing in the house asks for attention; everything points outward.

Cala Jondal itself is the quiet centre of the island's south-west. Sant Josep's coast road drops through pine and juniper into a pebble bay that has spent two decades as the anchor of Ibiza's beach-club culture, and yet five minutes inland the landscape returns to farmland and dry-stone walls. Buyers who look here are usually looking for exactly that contrast: privacy first, proximity second.

The shoot was built around the light rather than the rooms. We worked two full days on site, opening at first light from the water side with the drone low over the rock, then holding the interiors through the middle of the day when the galleries throw their deepest shade. The final hour was reserved entirely for the peninsula itself — a single slow reveal, flying out and turning back, so the film ends with the one fact no photograph had managed to carry: the house owns the whole headland.
